Philadelphia, PA, September 7, 2018- Watchdog Real Estate Project Management, a leading real estate owner’s representative and project management firm, announces the hiring of Thomas Fone as Project Manager.
Thomas is a highly motivated, exceptionally organized project manager with a successful track record providing owner’s representation services to clients in all industry sectors. Thomas is detail oriented and has excellent communication and creative conflict resolution skills. His ability to influence the commercial construction process stems from his years of experience on job sites and managing complicated projects and multi-million dollar budgets.
In his most recent role, Tom served as a construction manager/owner’s representative at Gilbane Building Company. While there, he built and fostered relationships with clients, AEs, subcontractors and vendors. He managed all aspects of his projects, from contract control, change management, forecasting, budgeting, scheduling, through close out, relocation and day two activities. As part of his role, Tom negotiated favorable terms with both contractors and clients to maintain project budgets and schedules.
While at Gilbane, Tom worked on projects such as the interior renovation for Verizon’s Northeastern Headquarters, Bank of America’s branch improvement projects throughout New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Florida as well as Represent Marathon’s rebranding and interior fit out program. He also managed a large laboratory renovation for Rutgers University’s Department of Medicine. Notably, Tom acted as a key engineer for a $1.4 billion federally funded project to restore and rebuild homes damaged by Superstorm Sandy. As part of this project, Tom developed estimates for funding, created schedules, negotiated with contractors and provided physical site inspections.
“Tom is a seasoned Project Manager and we are lucky to add him to our team. In addition to Tom’s strong resume of experience, he exemplifies leadership and development characteristics. Watchdog places client satisfaction at the top and we look for team members who can identify with our mission to deliver 100% client satisfaction. Thomas has a proven history of mitigating and resolving projects and obstacles throughout all phases of project implementation,” says Stephen Fean, President.
Prior to Gilbane Building Company, Tom worked as an Owner’s Representative and Facilities Planner for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Civil Engineering from Drexel University.
