Watchdog is pleased to announce that Project Manager Caitlyn Helsen has earned her Master’s of Science in Construction Management from Drexel University’s College of Engineering. Caitlyn finished her degree this past summer. She worked full-time throughout her advancement, managing a full load of Watchdog projects while studying and taking classes on evenings and weekends.
Caitlyn is an accomplished project manager and works on some of Watchdog’s biggest and most complicated projects, and is the lead project manager for many clients. However, Caitlyn has high standards for herself and wanted to advance her education in order advance her own project management skills and knowledge in order to be able to better serve her clients.
Drexel University’s MS in Construction management includes hands on courses in construction accounting, financial management, cost estimating and bidding, risk management, contract administration, schedule analysis and more. Caitlyn was able to apply the experience she had at Watchdog to her coursework and was conversely able to use the knowledge that she gained in her studies to better serve her projects. The curriculum also includes courses exploring construction leadership and management, including applied construction project management, leadership in construction, strategic management and more. These courses will support Caitlyn as she continues to advance her career.
Students in this program came from all sides of the industry- project managers, engineers, contractors, architects and more. Having multiple perspectives from throughout the industry deepened the impact of the course work because classmates could share how processes were applied to multiple disciplines.
Caitlyn earned her undergraduate degree in Strategic and Organizational Communication from Temple University and also has her Facilities Management Professional (FMP) certification. Please join us in congratulating Caitlyn on her degree!
