Part Two – Is a Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program Grant For You?

Once you have determined that the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) Grant is right for you, there are four steps involved.

  1. Legislative Process
  2. Pre-Award Application
  3. Post-Award Application
  4. Compliance and Reimbursement Process

Legislative Process

For the legislative process, it’s necessary your project have a line item on the Capital Project Itemization Act.

“Your project needs to be written into the State’s budget,” said Steve Munz, Senior Project Manager.

To get a line item in the bill, Munz suggests the assistance of a “champion.” Some people use lobbyists to promote the project to legislators or enlist the aid of a member of the House or Senate in Harrisburg. Often, people will partner with the local municipality to get a line item on the Capital Budget Itemization Act.

Pre-Award Application

Once you have identified a line item that applies to your project, go here to fill out the eight-question application.
