Part Two – Is a Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program Grant For You?
Once you have determined that the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) Grant is right for you, there are four steps involved.
- Legislative Process
- Pre-Award Application
- Post-Award Application
- Compliance and Reimbursement Process
Legislative Process
For the legislative process, it’s necessary your project have a line item on the Capital Project Itemization Act.
“Your project needs to be written into the State’s budget,” said Steve Munz, Senior Project Manager.
To get a line item in the bill, Munz suggests the assistance of a “champion.” Some people use lobbyists to promote the project to legislators or enlist the aid of a member of the House or Senate in Harrisburg. Often, people will partner with the local municipality to get a line item on the Capital Budget Itemization Act.
